HELP US GET OUR EXTENSION
First of all, hopefully most of you reading this have been down our way some time or other and had a roll in goreyskatepark. We know its not huge, but it is great wee park and we are very lucky to have it. It is now over 2 1/2 years old and has only had the fencing replaced since then as the original fencing was damaged and removed. We are applying to our council/ departments/ development groups locally to see if we can get an extension on to the skatepark. The plan or idea is to get a beginners area, mostly flat ground, and hopefully a street orientated area too, stairs, rail, ledges. The fencing can be reviewed at the same time as it too close to the overall skatepark anyway, and maybe even put in some cabeling for future lighting.
We would like to ask you to help our application by sending us an email of support for this application to the skateclub, info@goreyskateclub.com
If you could , please discuss that wether you have skated it, what you impressions were of the skatepark, the surface, the skaters in the park/ outside of the park, the onlookers in and out of the skatepark,, the other people in the town park, the atmosphere, the challenge of the park, the amount of room/ lack of room, would an extension be a good idea/ bad idea, events you have been at, would lighting be a good idea, why do like the skatepark or hate etc, how long your skating, where your local skatepark is etc, parks in ireland you like/ dislike etc.,
We hope that some of you reading this would be kind enough to take 5-10 mins and bash out a quick email and send it to us, hopefully with your help and support, our application will be looked at more favourably.
much appreciated and thanks everyone

Welcome to Goreyskateclub`s online home.
We hope you enjoy browsing around our website. There are lots of stories and news about the skating revolution
taking place accross Ireland at the moment. With skateparks popping up now all over the country, times have never been better here in Ireland.
Both concrete and modular skateparks co-funded by the Dept. of the Environment and local authorities are under construction or completed.
The €2 million+ is being quickly spent.
The road has been long and tough though. It has taken some 15 years for such skateparks to appear. Ireland is catching up to providing these facilities but still
has a long way to go to before we could actually say we have succeeded. Gorey town and Wexford county has the third ever concrete
skatepark opened here in Ireland.
We will be gathering information and updating this site more regularly now. You will be able to find out about the skateparks all over the
country and all the new projects that are going through the early stages still. We will have regular updates posted so click back soon.
Good luck to all the local authorities working hard to get projects completed this year.
